Water Sports in India
There are many water sports in India to enjoy. Like surfing,
sailing, canoeing, kayaking, water skiing etc. Major destinations
for these are Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands
and Lakshadweep. Surfing is becoming
quite popular in India. If you like the thrill then surfing
is for you. Make a big splash in the water and have a good balance
on the surfboard and there you are surfing all around.
Sailing is a very good sport as more than the thrill
of sailing on the sea one also gets to know the people living
near the seacoast. Summer months are the best time for yachting
in India. Canoeing and Kayaking are a unique
sport where you get the opportunity to explore the unexplored,
as kayaks are small boats one can paddle through beautiful natural
caves and explore offshore islands. Canoes can accommodate at
least two people with their gear and is usually practiced on
lakes and rivers, which have flat and still water. This is the
perfect sport to experience nature to its closest proximity.
The sport can be little ruff as the wind can be quite unpredictable
and the river at certain sections can be little dangerous. One
can enjoy this sport at any beach destination in India. Goa,
Karnataka and Kerala are the major kayaking and canoeing sites
in India. Water Skiing The pleasure of splashing
water on the sea waves generates immense thrill. Similar to
surfing in many ways, you need to balance here also but only
on the ski.
